Greetings all: It's been a while since I've visited this forum, as my DD is now almost in kindergarten... and I can tell you this whole program WORKS! We had her reading assessed back in July and she was reading at the 3rd grade level WITH COMPREHENSION! Her math is not far behind. Her memory is incredible as she can recall most of the BOI I flashed her over the years. and the best part is that we just took the WPPSI III (for entrance into a special school here in California) and out of 150 she scored a 148!! Incredible. Her father and I are no dummies, but we're not that, so I'm convinced she is as bright as she is because of all the LM/LR/Doman, Shishida, etc. So, with that in mind, I'm selling ALL my bits (i have over 1,600... from Doman and the ones I made) in fabulous storage containers. This includes the Doman reading kit and the Doman math dots. I have over 100 blank bit cards (the big ones: 12"x12"). In addition, I'm also including 9 DVDs from Doman's institute. I also have put together a math flashing schedule form both Doman and Shichida... and believe me it took me months to find the Shishida schedule! I also have 2 books of Shishida that I bought form them in English. and I have the first 9 volumes of TW DVDs... AND YBCR. YOu can have it all... I'm also willing to throw in any extra learning/flashcards/education stuff I have. I"m selling everything for a very low price (considering how much stuff you are getting and I'm saving you a TON of time AND expense!). Please keep in mind that I am happy to ship, but its like shipping books... very heavy and either expensive or slow or both. I would love to see them locally, but all this RB stuff is a big "no-no" here. i NEVER talk about all the stuff I've done with her as people would think I'm crazy. Be happy you live in a place where people accept and embrace this technique Please covo me if you are SERIOUS! Thanks for reading! And rest assured the program works!!! Dr. Primo

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Math / chunking without dots??
|
on: September 20, 2011, 03:42:57 PM

hi all: i've been reading an article about chuncking and math. my DD is over 2 and we have done all of the doman/shichida dots and equations and have transitioned to numerals. while she has been counting to 100 for some time now and can do simple equations (through our activities through dr. jones) we are ready for bigger things. any ideas how to use this chunking method for teaching math with numerals? i have heard that it is great to teach instant math quantity recognition... but i'm not quite sure how to do this with numerals . any ideas? thanks the doc

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Music / Re: Perfect pitch
|
on: August 25, 2011, 05:12:03 PM

hi all: my little one can name notes when played on the piano (no looking at the keyboard, just listening): "nikki, what note is this?" "do!", etc. she can also match the pitch to someone who is singing. like, whenever she sings a song from one of her videos it is always in the key it is sung. this is the first step to "perfect pitch". right now, it is pitch memory, but i believe with continued practice this will develop into perfect pitch (or very good relative pitch... i'm fine either way). she has been doing this since she was about 15 mo. old, and getting better all the time. it happened at the same time she learned the sounds of letters (from leapfrog). i started flashcards with her as well, and she can identify notes in treble, alto tenor clef. the next step is to have her sing the pitches she sees on the flashcards. will keep you posted, the doc

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Math / Re: When did your kids start counting to 10?

i heard about practicing counting backwards from dr. jones... we started his program when she was about 16-17 mo. taking it slow... because to really take off with his program you have to be able to write! anyway, we started counting backwards and WALING backwards when we counted backwards.... and that really helped. i wish i thought of it! the doc
