OK, just a little update - I asked my supplier about dyed wool, there is no heavy metal dyes used anymore, but there are natural eco friendly dyes or not natural . The bottom line - none should poison your kids making a project or playing with.

Personally I find felting similar to playing with clay for stimulation but not as messy, so I thought to share this hobby

If you have any knitting/painting/crafting etc. hobby you might consider opening a store at etsy, dawanda or similar site. I have one at etsy crafts2love.etsy.com and might as well tell you that it involves time on your PC to join a team/make treasuries and study trends besides actually producing something. I am very new there and still learning... but a lot of stay at home mom made it their business so it is posssible

 P.S. Just a note on buying wool - look for naturally dyed one, don't buy merino tops, cord roving or bats in bright colors with lots of variety - those are heavy metal dyes - go for simpler natural ones - if you want kids to use them.

I always heard that laser printers cost more to buy but are cheaper to run. And the page won't run if water spills on it.  I don't have the money to buy one though. My dad used to refill his ink jet printers and never had a problem until recently the companies started protecting themselves from unauthorized refilling. So, I bought an ink jet HP a month ago and had my dad refill the black ink when it ran out. If the printer is not connected to the PC it photocopies just fine (which means print heads are OK), but once connected it refuses to print... My conclusion - it is probably protected. Shame as my dad got me 3colors plus black bottles of ink to go with.

There are some traveling troupes/puppet theaters going to the "culture houses" that are set up in every district of the city, so we can go and see different ones at least every month
