I did "Check for Course Updates" based on your instruction, and it says "no course updates available on server" as well. Hope it got fixed soon. My little guy keeps asking me to show him LR this morning. Normally he would go thru 15+ playlists and still ask for more. Since the problem happens randomly and quite often, I don't really like to show him right now. I will try Skylark's method as temporary solution.

I'm going to PM you all individually with a download link to an upgraded version (build 202) to see if it fixes the problem.

Anyone else with this problem please PM me and I'll send you the link to try too.  If it works we'll put the new upgrade as the latest version in everyone's account.

I run the testbuild_202 and got this message:

Files in Use
  Some files that need to be updated are currently in use.

   The following applications are currently locking files.

   Little Reader.exe



It does not fix the problem.

It worked for 7 different lessons in the row, without getting restarted, and then it happened again.

It looked like it got completely fixed, and when I was about to close the program it happened....

Thank you so much on working to solve it. I am sure others appreciate it as much as I do. For me it is already a great step ahead, since I had a big problem with previous version

By the way, having this curriculum is great, even daddy can step in and teach our girl, without much catching up on what and how to do

I have installed the 1.5.202 version, but the problem still persists. I tried it a couple of times, but it happened both the times. The same error message "Littlereader.exe has encountered an error and needs to close" appears.

Also when I clicked on "About Little Reader" tab to check the version, LR freezed and I had to use task manager to end the process.

Thanks for the ongoing efforts to kill this problem.

I got this same message the first time (except mine was LittleReader.mdb) I closed the program and started over and it loaded the update completely but did not auto start LR after finish like it asked.  Haven't run the program yet to see if problem is still there. Will let you know as soon as I find out.

Hi KL

I ran the new build. I am still getting the following error message at random times during playback: 'Littlereader.exe has encountered an error and needs to close'

However, I don't see the message "Attempted to read or write memory. This is often an indication that the other memory is corrupt" anymore.

My error.log file is not getting updated by the test build. The last message in it is dated 6/16 - from when I ran it last night.

I was wrong when I said it was not getting updated at all.
error.log IS getting updated, but I don't see any error messages in it although LR crashed a few times.

Need more help (apart from the error.logs from those who haven't sent them).

Can you please observe more closely to see whether there's a pattern to when the error happens.

For example, is it during the playback of video?

Is it if you try to forward the slides quickly by clicking on the mouse?

etc.

Your problem seems to be the same as that reported here:

Please keep an eye on that thread (will merge it with that thread later).

In the meantime, can you please create a System Report file? (Help menu, select Tech Support).

Nothing particular to videos. It happened while playing all 3 (i.e. words, videos, and pictures).

Will try to see if it is related to mouse clicking while forwarding.
