Wow, that's quite a long time!
Actually, the new LR should make it faster to startup. However, your system has 1Gb of ram which is the bare minimum we need for running LR. More RAM would make a big difference.
As for your termination problem, firstly, can you please download and install the latest version (1.5.207)? (Best to do a complete uninstall of the current version first before installing this build if possible).
If it doesn't prompt you to install ffdshow in the beginning, can you download and install it separately after that:
