Baby Singing While Watching Trebellina

We are watching Trebellina late in the morning. Baby C is 14 and a half months old, and he has been watching this video for about 2 months. As you can see, he is rusty coming out of the gate, but he attempts to sing the note middle C. He announces "Next Note!" when Trebellina says it. Then he sings D. He gets excited and distracted because Mommy is acting silly by the video camera. He then attempts to sing the notes E and F. As you can see the video is very engaging for babies and teaches them about musical notes.

My attempts to test CJ on the keyboard have failed.  I only have a toy piano at home, and I'm sure that is not in tune, and my mother's piano is out of tune even to my ear.  I will have to purchase an electronic keyboard.  My husband has been wanting to get one but I think it is because he wants to take it apart  Until then I am going to try to avoid confusing CJ by naming the notes on out of tune instruments.  We will just play them casually until he gets old enough for Soft Mozart next spring.

Just watched this for the first time.. how adorable! My son is 22 months and has just started to sing along with some of his songs.. like he'll sing E-I-E-I-O.. I never even realized he was singing it until a few months ago I was bored and filiming him in the car while we were waiting for Dad to run into the store, I had music playing in the background and he started singing EIEIO.. it was so cool! I never would have noticed had I not been paying attention at that exact moment, and luckily I caught it on video too! maybe I should get trebellina to help him learn the pitch and notes. His dad plays the piano and so once a day I let my son "play" it with an adult present. I don't want him to think the piano is a toy he can just go bang on. We have a lot of fun and he loves it.

Totally cool LDSmom.  We always think our kids aren't doing anything, or don't expect anything of them, and they surprise us!  I'm sure you will enjoy showing that video to his prom date in about 16 years!    Trebellina has been great for my baby so far, I recommend it to anyone who isn't tired of hearing me talk

I just wanted to give a little update on my baby.  He sings songs these days, pretty much any song that I sing he will attempt to repeat back.  On his own, he knows Twinkle Twinkle Little Star/ABC song, Where is Thumbkin, and Old Macdonald.  He does not sing the words to the song, it is usually a string of DEEs or BAAs or BUHs or whatever is on his mind.  It's a lot of fun, and it is totally not in my head, everyone around (even strangers) comments that he can sing these songs and he sings them pretty often.  I am trying to capture it on video, which I've caught a few things here and there but I will wait to post something when I get a video of him singing more clearly.  He is 16 months, and I think he has learned to remember notes from Trebellina and that is how he can repeat a song when he hears it.  Also, when I sing a song to him that I want him to repeat, I sing the song sort of broken into individual notes (like staccato) and he repeats the song back broken up.  I started singing songs this way because I wanted him to learn the letters to the alphabet song, not all run together, but each individual letter, so I always broke it up, and sang each letter loud and clear, and that is when he started to repeat the notes/rhythm.  Hopefully I will get a good video soon, he seems to do the most singing while I am driving, but he does at other times as well, such as when he is really drowsy before nap time.

Thank you for posting your results with Trebellina.  I recently purchased the DVD for my young ones.  They are not yet starting to sing, but it definitely helps in our motivation to know that good results can come from the DVD.  We'll keep going and thanks again for letting us in on your results.  By the way, how often would you view Trebellina in those first two months?

Hi Tobias,
I think your little ones will enjoy the video.  Play it every day.  If you do not have time for the full run, which I think is 30 min, just put it on "Animated clips" and the music lessons will play, I believe just the animated play is a little over 10 minutes.

That is a great suggestion to play just the "animated clips" depending on time/interest.  There is so much for our children to learn and see!

I went back to the Trebellina DVD and was unable to find "animated clips" in the menu.  All I have for a menu is "play".  Is there a trick to pulling up the menu for the DVD?  Perhaps I have a different version?  (just purchased this month)

Hi, I don't know, "Animated Clips" is directly under "Play" on the "Top Menu" when I play my DVD.  I hope they did not start putting out a different version, I have found the animated clip option to be so helpful because you can just play the music lesson portion.  The percussion instrument clip is excellent, but I don't find any other part of the dvd to be necessary to watch more than once.

Tobias8 I bought trebellina for my grandson when he was 29 month and at first we watch it 2 or 3 times a week (when he comes to my house). Now at 33 month old we play it once a week. He still keeps interest in the songs especially Old Mc Donald that he first knew with Kidsongs DVD. Very soon after seeing it he start singing something like the notes and usually he goes to the keyboard and plays the notes in descending sequence from right to left. Today I was surprise because I heard him saying the notes NAMES and afterwards playing diferent notes (not as usual descendig order) and singing EiEiO.
I am really glad I found this product and will continue listening again and again.
How old is your oldest baby? I am sure you will enjoy it.
