This is a music notation software that is free. You can input by various media or by hand. The best feature - under plug ins you can chage the color of the notes to raibow the match the Little Musician colors.

I love musescore!  I even made an e-course awhile ago.

I usually use printmusic by finale just because I have it, but musescore has almost all of the features, plus a few others like the coloring option Sonya poined out, and it's free!  Super cool.
