Hi, 

recently just started to attend music lesson with my kid. We were taught in class the semibreve, dotted minim, minim, crochet symbol and counts. However, I am still not sure how is this going to appear in the music sheet. I have attached a music sheet that was given in class.. but I hope anyone can explain the things(symbols ,, notes,.. treble clef  etc... ) that are on this music sheet including the very basic ones as I have really no music background but I am eager to learn. I am really unsure how should I play this song on the keyboard... how long should I hold the each key and how to read the notes.

Dear babymum!

Let me help you a little!
This is a wonderful song to learn! It is not really hard to do it.
First, download and print out some piano key guide (attached)
After that place it behind the piano as it shown in this page https://www.softmozart.com/curriculum/eyenotes-sheet-music.html (scroll it down) - the trickiest part to find the Middle C  tongue
It is half green/half brown key
After that turn your sheet music over with the keys on the top and you will easily locate every note.

We have also 'Green Sleeves' piece that you can learn using the same approach here:

As for the rhythm, we also have some tricks, but let me know, if interested and I will be happy to share them with you!

Your song is in Treble Staff - so you would need just green part of our key guides.

Btw, would they need to play the music sheets sideway all the way..? Are they able to play the music upright in future?

Sure!
I usually explain to my students that music is like a train. Each 'cart' has the same amount of seats. At the the beginning of the music you can find 2 numbers: on the top is the amount of 'seats' of each car and on the bottom is a value-duration of each seat.
Here is the most common 'seat sizes'.
1 seat is for an average adult  - *quarter note*
1 seat also could be shared by 2 kids - *eighths*
2 seats is for chubby one  LOL  - 'half note'
etc
The are a lot of other stories like this in our Academy.  smile Join us to learn!
As for your question about the vertical. Children look at their toys from different perspective and do not have any problems recognizing every part of it. In fact, looking at the Grand Staff vertically keep the right hemisphere tuned and contributes to spatial thinking needed in math in future.
