Another member shared this with me a few months ago and I couldn't get the software to install. Tried again tonight and for whatever reason, now it worked.
www.singingcoach.comThis is a fun program! I practiced singing solfege and sight reading with it although I had to slow the tempo. I am really improving with musical ability and I am having fun doing it! Of course I could do the same with LMs and other music programs, but I like the immediate feedback to know if I am on pitch or not. It's fun! They offer a free trial, after installing it you can "Select Exercise." It's not 100% intuitive IMO, but once I clicked that was simple to sing along. Along with the free trial on their website, they offer coupons via email from time to time for 10% off (which is what reminded me to try to download it again) but the software is pretty cheap at only $20 for the full 50 songs. Not sure if you can import midi in it or not or if it does voice tracking with it if you can? Many years ago I tried out a singing video game that tracks pitch for xbox 360 (rock band I think? or maybe song star or something like that? ) but I like this one better because it keeps a running line so you know if you are too high or too low, rather than just you got the note correct or you didn't.
They have also have a kids version apparently that is more limited in songs but has lessons built in for only $15. I think I will get it to help mix things up sometimes and it's not a huge financial commitment. Amazon has some reviews on it but does not currently sell the Kids version, so I found it here:
http://www.rmlearning.com/43235.htm It's too bad they don't have a download only option for it!
I had fun trying out the trial tonight, I think I will get a mic when I let the kids try it and play it on the big screen TV to make it more fun.
