Thank you so much 2010BEBES, KL, mom2ross, Michael2009, sveta09, PY and sunmoonstar23 for your kind words. They are very flattering.
You must all be commended too for all your hard work in teaching your little ones.
@mom2ross - Apart from LR, I use various things such as printed flash cards, videos (started with YBCR, Tweedlewink, Signing Time and Babybit then a host of different ones after), Starfall and LeapFrog for phonics, Word games, books with big fonts, magnetic letters, alphabet and Word posters, educational websites. I only found out about Early Childhood Learning/Education when I stumbled upon Brillkids. My baby then was 11 months old. Prior to that I didn't have a clue whatsoever that babies can be taught. I then began with LR along with videos and printed flash cards and books soon after. He then started sight-reading some words a few weeks after and at 22 months (when he was more verbal), he began to read words in the computer, on book or paper, etc. I would always read and point to words everywhere especially when we're out. For more discussion points of his reading progression, please see the links below.

http://forum.brillkids.com/teaching-your-child-to-read/vid-my-2-year-old-son-reading-children%27s-classic-stories/@Michael09 - Because my son reads phonetically, he is able to decode even unfamiliar words in a different language. He is able to read words in Filipino. without me teaching him the word. Would love for my son to learn Chinese and Spanish too. I showed him the Spanish part in Tweedlewink as well as Mandarin in Little Pim but I know he won't learn the language just by showing the videos so I need to supplement it with other things and for me to study it as well. I plan to put him in a multi-lingual play group and enroll him in Mandarin classes next year so hopefully that helps.
@2010BEBES - He is a month shy of his bday. Good luck with your grandson.
