ILC only has until the 24th of July to gather a list of witness who can stand by the YBCR product and say "yes it works" . If you are like me and used YBCR then I think the least we can do it submit something. Read more below to see how you can help.
KiwimumWitnesses Needed
Dear Your Baby Can Read Families,
In this post we are asking for families who are willing to testify about the YBCR program in a very important legal case that could determine whether or not babies in the future in the US will be encouraged to learn the written language at the same time they are learning other important aspects of language.
Parents may choose to believe the evidence -- 14 studies on YBCR, the numerous studies on brain development, language acquisition, and the longitudinal research on early reading in general, along with testimonials from thousands of parents, video footage showing babies reading, and other competent and reliable evidence that YBCR can teach babies to read – or parents could be deterred from using the program based on the assumption that there must be a good reason why the FTC is continuing to spend its resources on this case. From our perspective, the actual reason the FTC is spending so many taxpayer dollars on the case appears to have nothing to do with protecting consumers. In fact, the news stories that came from the FTC’s press release questioned whether the consumers who used YBCR knew if their own children were reading.
As this case draws closer to trial, we hope that many parent testimonials and expert opinions might make a difference in the outcome. Once again, we are asking for your help. We are asking for testimonials from all people reading this who taught any infant or toddler to read. We also need parents who have backgrounds that could enhance the status of the testimonials. If you have any expertise as a teacher, reading specialist, early childhood instructor, speech pathologist, psychologist, medical doctor, neuroscientist, researcher, scientist, statistician, or in language development or a related field, please include that information.
Have you taught more than one baby or toddler to read? Even if this happened more than a decade ago, we would be interested in hearing from you. If you would be willing to testify on our behalf, please send us a message. While the trial will be in San Diego, we would appreciate hearing your stories from across the country and around the globe. We understand that we are asking a lot from the families who have used our ideas and our products to help their babies learn. We need your help. We sincerely hope that we can move forward with new, innovative products for babies and toddlers and that future children will benefit from the forward thinking that has taught children all over the world to read at an early age.
Please write as much or as little as you like. Even if you have written before, we would really appreciate an update. Please send your testimonial to
[email protected] or please post them here. More videos may also help get the point across that babies can learn to read and we thank you for them.
On the FTC Facebook page, at
www.Facebook.com/FederalTradeCommission, they state the FTC is “Protecting America’s Consumers.” In separate studies using consumers who have used YBCR, about 90% of the consumers in the studies reported they “liked” or “loved” it. The FTC’s objective with YBCR appears to be about winning a lawsuit in any manner possible.
We appreciate everyone making their voices heard on this issue. The FTC has media contacts who have reprinted parts of an FTC press release against us without reporting important details or contacting us for our side of the story. Now, we would appreciate any journalists who would write about the facts related to early literacy or why the CCFC or others can have such an influence on which cases the FTC pursues. We would also appreciate anyone with political or media connections to please speak up now.
We must turn in a list of witnesses by July 24th, so we would appreciate hearing from you soon.
Outside of the US, we are growing at a fast rate and expanding into new markets. We sincerely thank everyone for your continued support and we are sorry that we need to ask for your help in the US.
Thank you!
