Exporting

I am trying to export an icon set. I read the instructions. If I right click on the highlighted icon set the dialog bos give me 3 options - add set before, add set after and delete set. If I hightlight 2 icon sets the dialog box does show and export media option but it is not active. Help.

Hi Sonya, kindly confirm if you have selected an icon set or a folder of icon sets under "Icon Group" (or if the item you highlighted is written in italicized font). If this is the case, I'd like to clarify that you can't export an icon group or any icon set that's inside a group (that's why the "export" option is inactive).

To export a specific icon set, or 2+ sets, please select / highlight from the ones listed above "Icon Group" -- if you right-click your selected icon sets from there you should be able to access the Export option. I've attached a screenshot to illustrate what I mean.

I had placed the icons into the folder By Brillkids Members (Non-Rainbow) - sets are italicized. I moved it to the sets folder and was able to right-click and export it. This worked, but can you explain to me why - so I can organize my files accordingly?

Hi Sonya, an icon "group" is meant only for applying specific icon sets during playback. For example, if you want Little Musician to use only flower icons, you can add the three "Flowers" icon sets into a group and set your Notes lessons to use your icon group instead of regular note heads (or the icon set that's assigned to each lesson by default) via Override settings.

You can also use Icon Groups as a way for randomizing icons from your hand-picked icon sets (vs using random icons from all the sets you have).

The "group" feature isn't specifically for organizing your icon sets, which is how folders work for LMs Knowledge lessons (or in LR Categories). With this said, you can't use the folders to organize your icon sets -- at the moment you can only drag-and-drop your icon sets up or down the list of icon sets (alphabetically, or according to how you want to arrange them).
