Trouble Opening PowerPoint Presentations

I recently made a presentation in PowerPoint 2007 and saved it as the default file type .pptx.  Now people that don’t have the office 2007compatibility pack from Microsoft can’t view my file.  I have read in other places that people are just having trouble with the .pptx files even with the compatibility pack; that they don’t look very good.   Should I recommend they get this pack or should I just save my files as .ppt and upload them again?  BTW, this is a link to the compatibility pack I was considering recommending http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en.

I had the same issue so now I just save them as a 97-2003 powerpoint presentation to be sure peopel can use them.

For those of us who do not have Office2007 but have the older versions, it would be nice if the powerpoint presentations are saved as 97-2003 files so we can open them. I'd prefer not to download OpenOffice since I already have Microsoft Office (just not the latest version). Thank you for considering us in uploading your presentations.
