Hi, I installed LR 2.0 but it looks like it's built for the US curriculum since it couldn't recognise either semesters of the UK curriculum I use. So, I've had to uninstall it.
No, it's not built for the US curriculum. What do you mean by not recognising it? Can you tell me exactly what you did and what happened?
Can you also make sure you download the latest versions of the curriculum content (in the Beta page) which is made specifically for v2.0.
There is one more small bug I want to report here: note the grey bar on the top of the screen partially covering the main menu icones.
Thanks, that's actually a notification feature to allow us to alert you to stuff. We forgot to turn it off. You should no longer see it anymore for now!
love the word under the image- can we make it bigger or smaller?
Right now, unfortunately not. Might add this as an option later on.
I'm finding that a high percentage of the time, when i begin a lesson. the sound is delayed a bit or some times not said at all.
You need to get the sound issue checked out and fixed. Did you create another support thread for this? Has it been solved? Make sure you also use the built-in Sound Wizard that will help troubleshoot sound problems. It's under Tools/Support Tools.
1. but when i have any of the lessons highlighted, i can no longer double click it to begin play.
( screenshot below )
I know the play button is usable but if my mouse is already right on top of the desired lesson, why should we have to make the extra movement.
Did you use to be able to do that? I never realized...
OK, will have this feature implemented soon - should be quite easy. In the meantime, you can also right-click and select play.
- Im finding the font size very small in many places. Is there a way that you could make it bigger all over or allow us to choose?
maybe Create a "Preferences" section. Like option to choose colors for background in the forum.
I have a 15 inch macbook pro laptop and i find for my eyes, that 18 or 20 works best for typing and reading-
I use g-mail to create my posts then cut & paste-
Most of these places seem to have more than ample room to increase font size.
Some pages actually seem really empty ie.
yep the whole start guide- even after i make it full screen
-Faqs & Tips, Video tutorial,
- manual
I wonder if you chose to design for bigger screens? Desktops more than laptops?
Would be quite a big job. Will put it on the list but it would be lower in priority than many other tasks. For now, just play around with the DPI settings, like you've been doing here:
- a warning pop up says i have a custom dpi and it highly reccommends that i go back to default. Windows 7 sets small at 100%
I'm fooling around with it but how much and how will it effect the program if i do go custom dpi? do u have any suggestions on how big I could go without it causing problems?
That warning is just to let you know some parts of the app may look funny if you do that - you can still continue to use it. Just try it and see if it actually does affect anything. Hard to say cos computer configurations can be very different.
- In multi-sensory w/Auto forward- So far i've only used word-media-word. I assumed it would only be that way for multi-sensory.
If i choose this option, I get it in word flash and picture flash. i find that it frustrates me.
I find that when i didn't have this option, i would really take my time in multi-sensory using the replay button often, pausing to ask boy to repeat and even going back to see the word again.
Would like option to replay word multiple times. only on the front/first word if i choose word-media-word though.
Not sure I understand correctly. Are you playing back Categories (as opposed to the curriculum lessons)? Yes, autoforward settings are specified for each Category, Playlist and Lesson. If you use the same Category to play it back in different modes (like word/media/word and word only), then you would have to turn the Autoforward on/off each time if you'd like it to be different for the different modes. (In Courses/Lessons mode, we've done all that for you already).
If that's the issue, then that's a good point. We will be adding in "Playback Settings Profiles" in the next version (2.1) which will partly address this, but we will try to think of an easy way to do what you mentioned.
-- I set delay for 2 sec - the longest option u give. not sure why the category name is repeated twice with the pointer going twice also ( I really like this!!! ) but the words are delayed 2 secs but the pointer goes only once. would like option for pointer to go one or twice. once is good to give time for child to repeat the word if you ask but not quite enough. MAybe option of setting it to 5 sec? This should be an easy add- Again, this section was meant to have more time to interact. Twice adds
I think it's probably cos you have it set to show "Word, Media, Word", right? So it plays back the Title slide, then skips the media (since there's no pic to it), and plays the word a second time. Maybe we need to make it such that it only plays once if the'res no media attached.
***** I would like the minimum slide duration to have option to be longer 1-10 i think. This is about what i do without auto forward so it would allow me to keep the same general approach but be hands free. 3 secs isn't long enough to use opposite learning style to flash for 1 sec.
Tha'ts not what this function is for. What you really need is the ability to change the autoforward delay to a value that's much greater than 2 seconds. We didn't want to put anything more than 2 seconds because we believe that for your purpose, you should really be forwarding the slides manually.
- This may have been unavoidable or because of my custom dpi but on most screens that show word under image,
a translucent bar runs across entire bottom of screen. Not the worst thing in the world, but not top notch professional either.
actually, it was deliberate.
We had 2 options:
1. Having the picture/video shrink as much as was needed to accommodate the word bar; or
2. Leaving the picture/video at the full size and have the word bar cover it up
Neither was appealing to me so we opted for an in-between solution. What would you prefer?
