Adding Image

I have changed one of my 2 account installation and now I use LittleReader with  Windows 7. I have exported some of mine old Categories and import them on my new laptop and it worked fine.
Then I wanted to create another Category. It worked fine, but when running, some of my images were no there.
 This morning I have seen that the images are not in the specified folder and when I want to add and image by pasting it from Firefox, at the beginning it is shown in the image tab, after that when I press Edit it dissapear!!!
When I add more then 1 image some might remain!!!

Hi Catalina,

Sorry about the late reply! Can you kindly clarify a few things:

- Which version of Little Reader are you using now? For instructions on how to find your software version, please follow this link: http://support.brillkids.com/index.php/article/how-to-find-out-software-version
- Can you confirm if you are missing images in your imported Categories (the ones you created before switching to your new laptop), or if this problem happened only to the Categories you started to work on in your new laptop?
- By "pasting it from Firefox," what exactly do you mean - are you trying to add images that are not originally saved in your computer?

In the meantime, please try saving the images in your computer first, and then add those to your LR word file.

Let me know how this works for you. If you are still having problems, do send us screenshots showing what happens when you add your images.

I use 2.0.706
The Little Reader and my old Categories work fine, it happens only for the new Categories and the bmp files the program said is not finding actualy do not exist.
I use drag and drop, it is faster then saving on my computer all the images.

Hi Catalina,

Yes, doing it that way will work, but not all the time (as you have been experiencing). This is because your browser doesn't always save the images you drag-and-drop into LR in a temporary location in your computer, which is what usually happens when you access websites. This works in the same way as cookies are saved, and all of this "background saving" helps pages load faster when you return to the same website later on.

To help minimize this missing image problem, we suggest that you save the image first, and then you can drag the image file in your computer and drop it into LR's Edit Word window. The fastest way to save an image from a website is to right-click on the image and then choose "Save As" to save it in your computer. I would say this is actually more efficient in the long run, especially if anything happens to your personalized LR files, because if you save all the images you use you will be able to put them back when necessary.

I agree it works. Maybe some browser setup will help me work as before. Yes, it is very nice first saving the images (I was a software engineer and I know something about users demands: too many clicks, make it faster, go from record to record....) but as my 11 old daughter got brain-injured and I have a 4 years boy I appreciate every extra 15 min (or less).
