Hi Steven,
Here are our next suggestions for you:
1. Run a full scan using your antivirus or internet security program
2. Run Windows' built-in System File Checker (SFC) tool to find and repair any corrupted or missing system files.
To run the SFC tool:
a.) From Start, go to All Programs and then choose Accessories.
b.) Right-click on "Command Prompt" and choose "Run as administrator." When prompted, type in your administrator password then click Allow.
c.) This will open an elevated command prompt (a small black window). Type in the following command (type everything inside the quotation marks) then press Enter: "sfc /scannow"
d.) You should see some text which starts with "Beginning system scan. This process will take some time." The scan may take several minutes depending on the amount of data in your computer, so please wait for the scan to finish.
e.) At the end of the scan, the SFC tool will list down any files that were not repaired successfully. You may refer to this Microsoft Support article for instructions on how to fix those files (see "More information" section):
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833Once you're done with the steps above, please try running the Little Reader installer again. Also, just in case you were running an old installer (e.g., if you are reinstalling from a CD/DVD), do try downloading the installer for the latest LR version, which is 3.6.1650, from your account page (Account > Purchases > Little Reader Software).
I hope this helps! If you are still having problems, send us your Diagnostic Report so we may continue troubleshooting. You can simply create the report from Little Math's Support Tools window as it will still include your system details even though LR itself isn't installed yet.
