Hi Rainbowmom, I'm sorry for missing your post!
It might be that your computer's system language is actually Chinese; please confirm if this is the case.
In the meantime, if you didn't finish installing Little Reader, please try opening the installer again and follow these steps:
1. In the first screen you see after opening the installer, wait for the progress bars to finish (if any).
2. Once the loading is finished, you should see a screen showing the Little Reader logo on the left side. There are three buttons at the bottom of this installer window -- click on the middle button (this is 'Next')
3. In the next screen, there should be a text box where the software license agreement is displayed. Click on the first radio button below this text box, and you'll notice that the middle button at the bottom will be accessible. Once the middle button is clickable (or it's highlighted), click on it to proceed to the next step.
4. In the next screen, you can select the interface language you want LR to use -- select English from the dropdown, then click on the middle button at the bottom of the window
5. Next, you may choose which drive / directory you want to install LR in. You may simply leave this at the default setting (which is C:\Program Files\BrillKids\Little Reader). Click on the middle button at the bottom of the window.
6. Next, you may select which shortcuts you'd like LR to have in your computer. You may check or uncheck the ones you don't want to have. From top to bottom, the options are:
> Create icon on Desktop
> Create icon on Start Menu
> Add to Quick Launch
7. Once you're done, click on the middle button at the bottom of the window. This will start the actual installation process, and you just need to wait for it to finish. A few windows may pop up and close during the process, but you don't need to do anything in those windows.
8. At the end of the installation, you'll see one checkbox option. Select this checkbox and then click on the middle button (Finish). LR will automatically open after a few seconds.
In case you find that LR is in Chinese, or if you've already installed LR before you see this post, you can still change the language used in Little Reader from the Tools screen:
1. Open LR and click on the square button with a wrench and screwdriver image in it (5th button from the left, just below the window's purple title bar)
2. Click on the last button from the left-hand menu panel, then look for the dropdown option at the top portion of the right-hand panel
3. Click on the dropdown and select English, then click on the purple button beside the dropdown.
4. A small pop-up will appear -- click on the button on the left. This will close and restart Little Reader with the new language setting applied.
I've attached a screenshot of the LR Tools screen below so you can refer to it in case you cannot find the language option.
I hope this helps! Do let me know if you are still having problems with changing the language in LR.
