Assalamualaikum Mummies!

I'm UmmuNadirah from KL, Malaysia.    After reading this thread, I've decided to drop by and say hi to everyone 

Anyway, my Nadirah is 4mths + now and Mummy and Abi have bought her LR as her 4 months Bday pressie! I'm so glad to find the software and little Nadirah really loves it. I'm in the middle of studying the program and trying to put bits and pieces into the place and making a schedule base on what Ayesha Nicole has suggested from this thread

Hhahaha..that's very funny. Yeah I think we shud make a new thread "How To Teach Your Child Malay in this M'sia forum.  So all parents from all over the world can   learn Malay rite?? It such an honoured if they can speak our mother tounge.

I remember one tourist i met @ Bali spoke to me in Indonesian Languange ( similar to malay languange ) & they proud of it.

lupe pulak nak mention,i saw potting training.my opinion is, what the better and best thing to do is train potting straight away in the toilet(its more relevant with our culture).u can buy a special cover for toilet bowl(utk jamban duduk)its specially for baby.u can get it at bathroom accessory shop.and try to teach the baby not looking at their faeces/feces..(not good for brain. nanti study susah pick up.hehe)

Aah, actually tuh ter " accident" jer. After that, takder dah wat that training. Poyo jer Mummy dia nak test hari tuh.. hahha..But personally i agree with u. Me too felt hassle to do potty training.  Dont think Qarissa is happy sitting there. Macam sakit jer punggung dia tuh..

I think I will follow ur advise. Direct teach her when she can walk kan? Better that way...jadi perhiasan jer lah the potty nanti. hhehheh..

I remember one time, i wen for shopping  this cute girl age around 3 kot, run to the toilet to pee. She can even tahan & queue in front of the toilet tau..So gud lah..I think her Mum trained her very well.

Welcome on board!!   Please to meet you here too.. Well done to u & hubby for buying the sooftware for your baby. Untung u coz your baby still 4 months & its very very right time to start with the software.

Me just get to know about the software after seeing felicity you tube & get so excited. Teruja gilerr...  ..3 days cannot sleep & finally bought LR & LM. Really satisfied coz Qarissa love it so much! She now have more than just DVD to watch & learn.

I hope u can share ur experience & maybe ur file here. Feel free to drop some comments & share ideas ok..

How long have you shown your baby with LR? Do you follow any kind of program, Doman for instance? And another thing, what LM can do that LR cannot do? I just can't imagine what LM can do since LR can also flash numbers. Hope you could help me with that. I'm very 'teruja' to have both but of course I need to prepare strong justification for hubby before he has makes another swipe to buy LM 

Anyway, I've started Nadirah with YBCR since she's 2 months ol. But I didn't follow the program strictly then since she was even too young to see the pictures clearly. I just read the book to her and hoping that she picked up 1 or 2 words. When she's 3 mo plus, I've started with the DVD and I'm hoping to follow the program together with LR before her next 5months bday

I've started to show my baby LR right way after i purchase it! Hhehe...so teruja - as u said.  ..There are so many things & file to download from the forum & every file & subject is very interesting. I'm still in the middle of googling  the LR, hehhe...so much to learn but anyway, its quite easy once u know how to do it.

As for LM, frankly speaking, is still not yet go in detail about the software coz bz with LR (preparation for Qarissa reading package) . I ada  jugak sneak peak on the LR, basically the have some cute icon (to replace normal dots) & they teach numbers, addition, subtractions,multiply & division.

they also have chinese numbers (if u wish to teach ur baaby in chinese)  & special function like square & square roots.

BTW. It's gud to hear that u start to teach ur dotter @ a very early age. U're definately on a right track dear! As for me, i dont really use GD Program, my sister bought the program for her dotter, so i can just borrow it. 

But i bought a GOGO Education Set for my little one - full package from birth until 10 years - including a talking pen! hehehe..She loves it so much ..& while I'm happy that she showed a tremendous development, i feel sad coz the 1st word she said is "GOGO". Huhu . .i know its quite hard for baby to say the word "Mummy" , hehehe, but i really want to hear the word.. even tho she say Mama since 3 months, but that dont count, hahahaa..coz i want her to call us Mummy & Daddy..

i think u can start her the LR straight away ..no need to wait until 5 months..let her listen to it. Diesnt really matter whether she can understand or not ..just do it coz i really belive that all babies are born genius!! ehhhee

Thanks a lot for the info Watie. I'll definitely dig up more info on LM before the price increase!

I've shown Nadirah with LR everyday ever since I bought it. She loves the animals + sounds slides and smile all ears! It just that as for now I'm doing it randomly (no specific pattern or curriculum) as I'm still in the middle of downloading more files and arranging the program for her systematically. God, I just wish I have more time to look into this. Working 8-5 has made my time shorter!  My target is to get all done (downloading, identifying words etc) b4 her 5th month birthday which is about a week from now. Uwaaa.

Yahh...same goes to Qarissa!! She loves to hear the sound u know ..heheh..& she can even recall my voice in the software. Hhehee.. I even record her grandma, uncle & auntie voices & she loves it. Yang kelakarnya, suara adik lelaki i a little bit harsh, so bila Q dengar, she make sad face & ada sekali th, nangis terus...until i have to give my milk but she just can stop crying! sedih sangat kot.agaknya dia ingat adik i marah dia ..hahahah...never happend before coz normally when i give her my breast milk, she will stop crying @ even merengek.. so funny...

i'm not sure whether u dah d/load atau tak, but 2 files from pupisek is very gud. I suggest u showed it to ur baby everyday. I bet she love it as much as qarissa do! the file name is Play with your baby - Peek a boo & play with your baby - the belly button song.

dont worry UN, coz the moment u spent with ur baby is the most precious one so just relax & steady. She will surely catch up very fast u know ,,hehehe...she just dont know how to express herself yet ...nanti dah bijak, mesti penat u nak layan ..My baby dah 11 months & started to show " becok' sign already ..takut & teruja i ..ahahaha..

Hi.. I'm sha, mother to 22 month girl. Actually dulu ada try nak install little reader kat pc tapi tak boleh open pun. Tak tahu apa sebabnya.. seronok nak guna tapi dah tak boleh..hampa sangat..

...... And as for that, as a foreigner here, I did speak English with my daughter when we have to such as when we are outside the house. As in the house, me and my husband do think that we need to preserve the Malay languange and identity to our children thus we speak Malay in the house.

.... because they said that the English languange can be picked up by the children when they go to school and in their everyday lives...fastly   .

it can be seen here that the malaysian children, when staying here will speak English fluently although they does not have enough background but sadly, when the used English, they forgotten to use their mother tounge

Even though i have nothing to do with Malasia i am interested in this topic and agree 100% with you and your friends. I do not understand how people outside their country fail in speaking to their kids in their original language. Your child is lucky that you continue with your language and will learn english later on. Good for you and your husband.

 Feel happy coz she loves LR so much especially when it come to animals sound. She even follow the intonations...(I'm getting excited & in the middle of "googling" the software...hope that in few days to come...i can share my file with u all.. hehhehe

My grandson also likes animals much more than cars. Maybe because I bought cardboards with different animals and always mention them to him. I will try to show them so that you understand.
There is an excellent video Baby Einstein 'Baby Noah' that can be seen in English, Spanish or French. It is a very good way of learning about animals form the dessert, the sabana, the ocean etc.
Who knows maybe a time from now you will be teaching your kid spanish. I can help you with that.

... last week, my husband participated the talk of Baby Sign Malaysia. And we apply it to our big bro (2 and 1/2 year)... We use English language to translate the sign and it was very interesting... He put the lesson in long term memory very well and fast...    Actually Baby Sign is used for the baby from 0... but we just try it and it works...!!!

There was a question I wanted to now about Sing Language. Is it the same in any language or you had to translate from english to Malay. Are the Signs different in other language? If not, then it is a very good UNIVERSAL language.
My 3 yr old grandson is going to learn Signing and maybe he can comunicate with your big bro. Ja.ja
