The BrillKids Forum / Forum Rules + Regulations / Posting Downloads - is it possible to post pre-sets in "packages"?

I have a question about some pre-sets that I created for LM, that I use for my daughter. I thought those would be helpful to share, as it took me a while to make them according to to suggestions and guidance from GD, and council from other members. So it might be helpful for others...
My question is of technical nature. The presets I did, are done by day, according to GD Math dots course. There are 4 pre-sets for each day ( as there are 3 sessions of 2 sets each, but 2nd and 3rd session is the same). I would like ideally to post these pre-sets in the "packages", for day 1, day 2 and so on. But so far I only figured out how to post each pre=set individually...
So I went ahead and just named them clearly, so they are easely sorted and clearly marked by days, sessions and sets. That was the next best option after the possibility of having them uploaded in "day packages". Did I do it right, or there is a better way to do it, that I am simply not aware of?
Thank you!

... they say can do 2 step equation after finishing quantity 20. But i complete quantity 50 before i do the addition equation. I am feeling inclined to do that. Reasons? I feel that starting at 3.5 months I want to give her more chances to learn numbers before equasions will start, also there are more possibilities for equasions with that many numbers. And... it will give me a chance to learn how to create equasions with Little Math So what are your thoughts on that? Is there any reason, that I HAVE TO start equasions after 20? Or it does not matter that much? TrinityPapa, what were your particular reasons for doing it this way? Thank you!!

Ok, here is another question... So we have two sets of 5 numbers for each session, which we show with little intervals. Then we supposed to "On the sixth day and later add 2 new cards daily and put away 2 old cards daily. This is how you retire cards: Every day remove the two lowest numbers..."But then I have a question, that I have not thought of before, -- do I retire the lowest number from each set? Or two lowest numbers from the 10 numbers of that day. Or it does not matter? I guess not having a book, it takes me a little bit of pasting together all the bits of knowledge I can find on the forums Which I am thankful for Thank you

The BrillKids Forum / BrillKids Announcements / Re: Little Math and Little Musician - a Sneak Peek!

Just wondering, if Little Musician still in works, and if it is, will it be coming our way soon? I am curious, because my husband is planning to prepare guitar notes, cords mini course for our little one, because she is really interested in music since birth, and follows my husbands hands with her eyes every time he plays guitar, no matter how long So we want to introduce these to her pretty soon, since she is so mesmerised by music. But if Little Musician will be coming soon, we will wait with making our own materials. Cant wait to see it being released!

EARLY LEARNING / Teaching Your Child Math / Teaching math - languages dilemma!

I speak to my daughter in Russian, my Husband speaks to her in English, we do speak English around the house as our main language; and we are planning to have her learn Chinese with LR, since Chinese is the second language for most in our extended family. It seemed obvious to me that we will do the LM in English (we do GD method). But then I just wondering... Should I encorporate the other languages that she is learning into her Math somehow?.. I am not clear on it just yet, but was just wondering if anyone had any experiences with that? Or if I teach her math in English and then simply teach her the names of the numerals in other language later on, it would be enough. Or would I need to show her "true quantities" in dots accompanied by the names in the other two languages that she is learning. I hope I was clear in expressing my question, and just wondering if anyine has any thoughts or experiences? (I would not want her to later on do all her math in English in her brain, and translate it to lets say Russian or Chinese, I would much rather her think math in those languages as well, when she is in situation where she is using language other then English...)

That is so neat to get all these tips from you! Also encouraging to hear how Trinity is able to solve the equasions now, after doing the course. In fact I was hoping to hear from someone who started with their kid around the same age as I, so I can compare of sorts. It did give me motivation. Of course I knew the fact that she takes it all in, etc. But having someone who just walked the road and is a bit ahead is really really neat. Well, that was really helpful, and I am sure once I start getting more into the program, I might (will!) have more questions. And, yes, TrinityPapa, I definetly will be sharing my LM tips and tricks as I go along Just wondering now, if I need to have flashcards on paper as well for "testing" her a bit later on in the program... Or if anyone has an experience how to do it with LM. I am creating my pre-sets for her math dots for every day now (with retiring numbers, sessions in order, random sessions, etc.), just to make it easier for me to have it all together and not needing to prepare those every day for the next day ( also so my husband can show her the dots when he is with her). Just wondering once I will do those, would it be helpful if I would post these presents for others, or not really? Since there are already a few different schedules available.

She could not paint, nor write, nor rhyme
Her footprints on the sand of time,
As some distinguished women do;
Just simple things of life she knew--
Like tucking little folks in bed,
Or soothing someone's aching head.
She was no singer, neither blessed
With any special loveliness
To win applause & passing fame;
No headlines ever blazed her name.
But, oh, she was a shining light
to all her loved ones, day & night!
Her home was kingdom, she its queen;
Her reign was faithful, honest, clean,
Impartial, loving, just, to each
And every one she sought to teach.
Her name? Of course, there is no other
In all the world so sweet--just Mother!

Happy Mothers Day!!!

How young was Trinity, when you started? Evangeline is 3.5 months, but she is really concentrating and LOVES the dots, I have to discipline myself to not do it agan and again... On the other hand, just wondering if it is not too young, since it will be difficult to "test" her just yet Once I've done all the days up to 100 dots, equasions, then I just continue with equasions, right? It is still way ahead of me, but just wondering. Do I repeat the program from the beginnign at any point? Review of sorts? Also, from what I understand I do simple equasions with one action at first 2 weeks each. Then, are there any rules for combination equasions? Like you mentioned 5 steps ones, what was your progression towards that, any records you can share? Thank you for your precise and to the point answers, Trinity Papa. So, are you planning to go beyound 100? Do you know of others who have experience with that, benefits? I will be definetly interested in your experiences with that. Keep us all posted. You also mentioned that you started adding equasions after you reached 50, I am leaning towards that as well... Do you have any tips, guidlines on making equasions? I heard conflicting information about the guidlines for equasions, so just wondering... Really admire you doing it all with flashcards, before LM, wow!

There is also a fun Baby quotes video, flash cards style, -- moral values and christian values, they are flashed nicely with kids reading the quotes. The nice thing is that you can download this video and have it with you, even when you not on line. My baby loves it, and I am taking it out with us on laptop, when we are out for a day, and she wants some educational activity. http://www.earlylearningathome.com/kidsvideosI also got hard copies of these Baby posters, so I put them up, one or two at a time on the wall, where she has her potty. So every time we have a potty time ( she loves her potty time and sometimes sits there, after she has done her business for a bit longer ), she studies them, and we talk about them. There are tons of things that you can talk about, since the poster is colorful and has different fun things pictured on it, apart from quotes. So I found it to be a fun teaching tool.

Thank you again for your explanation, karma to you! I am getting really close to understanding and putting together my schedule. I REALLY glad I've got LM! I did not understand about 12 sessions. Wouldn't it make 9 actually ( I guess not just a child learns math, but parents does as well ). I mean 6 sessions of continuing to introduce dots ( quantities) of 3 double sessions of 5 numbers each; and then 3 sessions of 3 equasions each.. That makes 9. Did I missed something? Thank you so much.

She is beautiful ( does not every mom thinks her baby is? )! But even though my husband grew up in Asia, he is not Chineese, he is from US, even though he never lived there However he spoke more portugese and cantonese, as a child then English. But English is the only language we have in common, ha! I am planning to learn some Chinese together with my daughter and actually really looking forward to that! We still did not figure out how to incorporate Ukrainian and Portugese in our learning, as we are the only speakers around at the time, and I do not want her to mix the languages. So far, our plan, -- I speak Russian, Daddy - English School time with LR - Chinese, and possibly some other activities ( we have not started yet).. So, ideas anyone?
