i don't have it myself ( cannot afford it ) but it was highly recommended to me by a montessori friend , she got it for her son and is very happy with it .She says :

ook the course years ago to help my specialneed daughter . Mine was a set of dvds with alll the lectures included . it was amazing to watch and learn .

thanks manda , One of the therapies we did for isa to try to overcome her spasticity is neurofeedback , where her head is hooked by electrodes to a machine , to he computer ,A software is played on the computer showing brain waves , sometimes games , she will need to concentrate to bring her brain waves to alpha ot relax , she doesn't need to use her hands , just do it in her mid and whenever she could achieve it the software will play  an sound as an affirmation of her success , it is like training he brain to relax , and you can see thanks to the electrodes everything going on your brain , on the screen .
Athletes use this kind of neurofeedback and biofeedback in their training .

oh( Skylark i understand what you mean , this program was on my wishlist for years but unfortunately it was  and still not on our budget. I just feel it is a good program to have and thought  maybe other parents could use it .xxx viv

Oh manda , listening to poetry on audio tapes was part of their listening auditory program . They even sold in their book store : THE GENTLE REVOLUTION AUDIO SERIES : poetry classics , the 19th century poets , 18th century poets ,... read by Neil Harvey . I have them all on tape and i am trying now to copy them to cds . You would find all those in their book store or online , they are all part of their better baby course . it was wonderful to watch their kids performing a Shakespeare play fully dressed with beautiful costumes . yes they encouraged exposing your kids to poetry and good literature , learning about famous poets and authors the same as learning about the flags of the world

Great review Linzy , thanks xxx .Like you Music lessons are impossible for us , We live in a very remote area and i am not sure i could trust the skills of  the few available teachers . I had softmozart for a while now but we were not consistent in using it till wonderful helena offered her Skype support and that was a turning point for us . Talking to her was very inspiring to me and my kids . Suddenly they want to do their lessons daily so they can play better and show the lady on skype how well they are doing . our kids are almost the same age . My youngest only now is accepting lessons , he is actually inspired by his sister success and started asking me to show him how to play when before he refused any lessons . he loved playing by himself , hitting notes and singing solfege , but wouldn't have a lesson with mama , till now , My daughter loved to watch her own video on you tube , so we decided we will practice pieces every week and by the end of the week , we will make a video and posted for Helena , friends and grandma ( lives far ) to watch them play . I shared our very first video on facebook and she was happy from the positive response she got from her grandma and aunties . now f she knows she has to play more to continue to impress them of course it is not a reason to play piano . She alway said she loves to play but she was very distracted and not consistent .
I was actually motivated by your posts and Tamsyn on softmozart and a bit jealous that you just started and are doing so well . if you could do it, so do we . I showed my kids your kids videos and told them those kids are the same age like you , look how well they are doing , only because they were willing to practice every day , you can achieve the same .
oh and something else that helped mama decided to learn herself , i am not sure how much time I have , but there is something magical , so much different to sit down and start playing myself , both kids leave everything and run to take over the keyboard and say our turn now . I don't see the same enthusiasm about playing when i simply announce time to practice piano , they are not always willing to leave what they are doing to come and play .
I would love to hear from other mums who successfully taught themselves to play with softmozart .

i wonder if anybody on this forum is using :Linguistic Development Through Poetry Memorization .

I read about it years ago when i had only isa and we were on the Institutes intensive program , Doman encouraged lots of audio listening to poetry , and this teaching tool according to their site  includes a book with over 75 complete poems, plus speech and soliloquy recommendations, as well as all the poems read on CD for ease of memorization. Instructions, memory charts, certificates, and poet biographies are included.
I listened to a sample on their site and it is actually pleasant to hear . I was wondering if anybody here is using it and can give a review .

i bought one child craft book : the green kingdom for my kids and was planning to get the rest bit by bit . Well i just got  the whole set for free from a missionary family working in Gambia who said we don't need them have them . i was so happy , what are the odds that i would find them in our end of the world where nothing i really mean nothing can be found . my kids love them .
