I haven't been using Little Reader Touch till my latest baby. Now that I try to use the app, it keeps shutting down. I have the latest iOS on my iPad.

I am not sure why ... when I install the recent update on LR PRO 3.1 took away the Word Split, Game at the end ... and also all the files I previously downloaded with the updated version. Now, I cannot even download any files from the library?

Is there something wrong? When I try to install the first updated version .... the pop up box says my current version is more updated.

Did I miss anything?

However, I would just like to find out if I could buy the Piano Wizard Academy (without keyboard) together with 2 more copies of the software. How could the shipping be done so that I would not incur more cost? I know there is the option of buying the software with the midi-USB cable at $134 on your website. But if I order 2 from your website and 1 from the special offer ... the shipping will cost more? Is there also the option of buying just the software with downloadable sheet music to reduce cost of shipping? (books are heavy) Also I am exploring if it is cheaper to use a third party shipping (that is - ship to US address and from there they will ship to Singapore) ... is it possible to give me the weight of PW without keyboard? I am really impressed by the Piano Wizard Academy method of teaching. I have started my son on keyboard at 3 years old. He is now (4yrs 1 mth old) trying to learn In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg. He really loves the song ...  But getting a 3 year old to practise (esp when the learning gets tough) can be quite demanding ... :P I usually bribe him with a short pink panther cartoon should he be able to focus and concentrate.

I really hope music would be his motivation and not have to resort to Pink Panther cartoon! :p Will you be offering this system to Brillkids member at discounted price? Thanks ...

Thanks for the advice. I started learning piano at 5 but have never been taught solfege. I picked it up later myself ... however I am much faster at reading score than trying to read it in solfege. I have perfect pitch ... so I can pick up a piece of music by sight without solfege. 

I do have problems teaching solfege as I have never been taught myself. I supposed if solfege is well taught, it is helpful. That's why Suzuki method uses it.

Not sure how to teach it. If you do have advice, I'll be glad to learn more!

I have taught my boy (starting from 3yrs 2 months) how to play the keyboard using the Soft Mozart software ... It's great! Because he knows his alphabets, I did not use solfege but went straight to notes. Currently, he still has problems reading score ... but with the software that shows him the note names, he is able to play up to 6 songs with both hands. In fact, he is able to play with both hands after 1 month of teaching with the software. It's keeping him motivated to play new songs. I do theory with him ... and he is able to write notes with lots of guidance and can recognize time value of the notes. However, differentiating the spaces and lines on the grand staff is still difficult for him. I think he can take his time to read ... as long as he enjoys playing the instrument (which he does). After he memorized the song on the keyboard .... he could play on the full size piano without stickers on the keys. He only needs a bit of help with placing his left hand.

You may want to check out this website for the software ...  they have fun games too (although some are too difficult for a 3 year old). I believe parents who do not know music still can help their children to learn piano using this software.

I am a Mac user and have run LR and LM successfully on parallel platform.

But will still prefer a Mac version because LR and LM run a lot slower on the virtual Windows 7 OS.
Can be frustrating when I have a 20 mth old and a 3 1/2 year old impatiently waiting ... sometimes scrolling can be slow ... maybe it's a RAM problem ... still thinking if upgrading my Mac RAM will be helpful (now it's 1 GB)

Also, switching platform is a nuisance!

I also have problems installing video files on LR and getting the files printed ... maybe I have some connection issues ...

So to run LR on Mac OS would be wonderful ... I'm sure LR and LM will run a lot faster!

Hope there are enough users to warrant a Mac version!

Hi~ I'm Nancy ...

I started out with Glenn Doman flashcards on my first boy when he was about 6 months. His interest was not in viewing the cards but in snatching it from me! Then we move on the Baby Brain Workout Flash Card that trains both the right and left brain. He loves the flashcards but the only gripe I had was that words and pictures are shown together ... obviously he focused more on the pictures! When I stumbled on LR when I googled, I was amazed to find such a versatile system in teaching reading. Alas by then, I have my second baby ... I could not do much to customize the content. However, the inputs from the forum and the downloadable files everyone provided were really fantastic and really amazing in helping my son learn to read.

My first boy was able to read by 2 years old ... the words that he was exposed to in LR. It has been his great favorite. Some rather difficult words in eg. the different kinds of clouds ... he could also read. And he would try to identify the kinds of clouds in the sky when we are traveling by car. He also learned Bible verses from the wonderful files put up under the "religion" category. With that knowledge, I quote him on the relevant bible verses he has learned in different situations. Now, when he is fearful, he would recall the relevant verses and quote them as well. When he is naughty, he would also recall the relevant Bible verses on how he should behave.

As I started to train him on holding pens to write from 6 months old and subsequently writing on Kumon alphabet cards, now that he is 2.5 years old, he surprised me by writing his very first word COW spontaneously 4 days ago. I did not have to teach him spelling. He recalled the image of the word and wrote it out on his own ... reading it at the first time. I am truly thankful to God for how he make babies so amazing ... and I'm awed by how much a baby can learn!

Currently I am getting him to learn phonics from starfall.com ... a website a mother provided on the forum. He really loves the phonics program ... I hope to help him advance from mere reading of words he has seen before in flashcards to read words he has not been exposed to before thru phonics. And this, I must thank the articles on your website that gave me the awareness of whole language learning vs phonics.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to the new changes to the software.
