TweedleWink DVDs question

I've just purchased seven out of nine Tweedlewink DVDs- can't wait to start showing it to my 2 sons. If play it everyday they would only last me for a month (4 lessonsx7DVDs). That's it?? What do you do after that. Yes I can buy another two DVDs- only 8 lessons, 8 days. So, why not a lot more???
Does anyone know?

I, too, just got the dvds 1-7.  We're trying to show a lesson 3x/day. 

I had a different question for Wennie just the other day and she directed me to the above q&a page.  Somewhere in there I read that they recommend re-showing the set once completed because your child will pick up additional things from the lessons.  I imagine that it's just like rewatching a movie - you pick up on nuances that you hadn't noticed before and, even though you know the storyline, it pulls things together in a new way.

One TW lesson contains ~200 flashcards. That is a lot of high quality well organized info! They will have DVDs 9-12 by the end of the year. It takes a lot of time for them to create one DVD.
 The main reason is due to the lack of man power and their high standard of quality control.
 ""We are trying very hard to hire graphic designers, but it has not been working out, so we still have to do everything ourselves. Most people don't know how much work it is required to produce a well thought out content and quality DVD. We made many improvements and I know you will be pleased especially on the science and the redesign of the speed reading.''
They  work hard to create  the DVDs.
Meanwhile  you can download some LR files, to suplement the TW.
And I agree with kizudo, that it is a very good idea to go through them couple of times

We could not manage 3 lessons a day... my daugter does not last the whole 8 mn (which I think is quite a long time for flashing information) and she loses interest after a few minutes, so we usually break the lesson in 2.

We watch them over and over again too. My son request certain lessons all the time. I'm not sure if those ones interest him the most or if he is still trying to learn what they are teaching.
Hypatia- She will start sitting longer and longer as she gets older. My five year old requests 4 lessons in a row.

Hi all

Although even my daughter watches them over and over, it is not advisable. The whole concept of Right Brain learning is that the image is seen once, and the right brain absorbs the information and stores it for later use as an image, to be decoded later down the line by the Left Brain (the logical side of the brain). By repeptitively watching it over and over, the left brain learns the information which goes against the whole concept of RB learning.

Wennie recommended that you can watch it again - but only after about 6 months. The reason for this, is that after 6 months, new neural connections will form in the brain, with new associations to the topics, and so when watching the DVD's again, the right brain will look at the material with a new perspective.

Doman's repetitive style was originially developed for brain injured children, hence the reason for his repitition. But in order to nurture the right brain correctly, excessive repitition is not good.

All that being said, Maria Montessori said "follow the child" - and if your child WANTS to watch it over and over, and loves to watch them (as mine does), then go with the flow. It's just a pity that there are not more of them so that they could watch new content every day!

Dear all:

It is so wonderful to see all the discussions here. You know, there is really no fix rules. If there is one rule, then that will be "don't force" your child and follow their lead. If your child is very young and not able to give you feed back yet, then just show each lesson once or twice will be good. With your toddler, if he wants to watch the lessons over and over again, then please honor that.

Every child is different on their brain development. Left brain loves repetition, and it is perfectly fine. Even though we said we do right brain education, but in truth, we are doing whole brain. As long as we honor the child's natural development, we are doing good.

We have seen over and over again in our centers that the more the parents relaxed, the more joy and the progress they see in their children.

We got the DVD and the new lessons are too good...it's superb...specially
the sound section in Science, L-31. How the different pitches, frequency
and decibles are shown is amazing.We've only seen this in science center.
