How to designate title (first slide) in playlists

Hi there

I'm having trouble designating a title for my playlist as first slide under 'playlist' when I choose to play my slides in random order  Basically the title becomes randomnised too and does not appear as the first slide.

I can do so under 'catergory' but I don't play my slideshows from my 'category'.

Can someone please enlighten me?

Sorry about the late reply! First off, can you kindly tell me which version of Little Reader you are using right now? You will see this written in the Little Reader window's title bar (e.g., "BrillKids - Little Reader 2.0.XXX"), or you may go to Tools > Software Information.

We've noted this particular bug before, and as I've checked the latest version for this once again I believe we've already fixed it (the latest version is v2.0.706).

Currently, all slides that have been set to "First slide (title)" should stay as the first slide (for that category) even when you have set your playlist to play in a random order. So for example if you have a playlist containing 2 or more categories and set the playback order to "random," the title slide of category A will be shown first, followed by the words from that category in random order, and then the title slide for category B will be shown, followed by its words in random order. Note that the categories in your playlist may also be shown in a random order (eg., A, C, B or C, B, A, etc.) but the title slide of each category will always be shown first when a particular category is played.

In case you are using an older version of Little Reader, you may download the installer for v2.0.706 from your Account Management page (go to Purchases > Little Reader). As a precaution before proceeding with your software upgrade, please save a backup of your personal lessons, including the ones you downloaded from the Forum, using Little Reader's Export or Backup function (these can be found in the Tools screen).

I installed  LR  on a second computer, but I do not know how  can I  install my playlist and personally made ​​files  on  the  second  computer.Could  you  advice me please?Thank  you.

Hi Sidonia!

There are two possible ways of "copying" your personalized lessons from your first computer into the Little Reader you've installed in your other computer:


1. Using the Import and Export functions

You may already know about how the export and import functions work -- simply export your personal LR files from your first computer, copy the saved *.cat or *.pl files into your other computer, then import those into the LR there.

2. Using the Backup/Restore Data function (only if you are already using LR 2.0)

This may be a more efficient way of transferring all of your lessons (the curriculum + your personal files) since you can use the Backup function to save your LR database and media library and copy the backup file (*.lrb) into your other computer. You just need to import this one file into your second LR and you'll have the same set of lessons from your first computer in your new installation.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm using the latest version 2.0.706, but I don't seem to be able to do what you've suggested.

I have designated the "first slide (title)" under 'category' but when I play my playlist under random order, the first slide (title) does not show up as the first slide but is randomised along with the other slides in the playlist.

Can you try editing your Playlist and remove then re-add the Category you have edited (with the first slide setting)? If it still doesn't work correctly, please send us a Diagnostic Report so we can troubleshoot further.
