My son would eat all day if he could .......his first sign was milk.

I wondered the same thing when I first began teaching my son, but I learned that at that age they are taking it all in even if we (us parents) are unsure if they are really getting it. Just continue doing what you are doing and when he is ready he will show you what he knows. My son has and he still surprises me to this day.....a couple of weeks ago he said to me "Mom, then he looked up at the moon, and said moon as he signed it".

Finding the time to pamper yourself is hard, but yesterday I went to get a massage for the first time and LOVED it:) My son went along for the ride, but he slept the entire hour I definitely plan to go back again soon and hopefully when I do I plan it right around his naptime ......

My experience has been really good and to be honest better than I thought. I viewed the dvd when I first got it and it wasn't what I thought it was going to be, but I showed it to my son and nephew anyways and they loved it. They both love the background music and listening to the silly stories and as long as it is on they both stay tuned in. I do remember to stop before they want to stop and then we end with a little dance session they have to the background music

I haven't printed them out yet, but I think that if you are worried about the font  size there are lots of printout, including the bits that you can start with. Have you shown the dvd to your little one yet? Even though my son likes it, I am not sure how much he is getting out of it, but I don't worry about it. He enjoys it and I leave it at that.

As far as the games running on Internet Explorer and seeing the menu bars, I don't know why that is because mines opens up as if I am watching a movie on the computer and all that I see on the screen is what is included on the dvd. After you put the disk into the computer how do you go about opening it up?

I have received the material, but I haven't gone through everything yet, but I can tell a little about each item. There is sooo much to go through and I am somewhat overwhelmed because everything is in mandarin. Although I am studying the language I am not there yet

Nursery Rymes: My kids love them....I have a 3 disk set of around 100 rhymes and another seperate disk that has 50 rhymes.

A set of disk around 6 or 8 of them that contain  poems, but I  haven't listened to them yet.

A set of 2 cds that have many of the popular songs in China

2 cds that are just lullaby instrumentals for babies to fall asleep to

A series of dvds and books for older children to watch and learn the language, but it is also used in china for the children to learn english, so my teacher said it should be easy to follow, but I will post again after I have had a chance to view them

A memory/matching game with half of the pieces containing the character and pinyin and the other half the pic to match the word

Alice in the Wonderland- but I haven't opened this yet either, but I am sure my 5 year old daughter will like this as well

Lastly, there are two sets of flashcards that contain general vocabulary of family, animals, etc My only issue is that the pinyin and characters are written on the front side with the pic and not on the back, but I can work around that. There are also short poems on the back of some of them as well which would be good and easy for kids to learn...

For those interested I will be receiving a bunch of fun educational material in chinese (i.e. nursery rhynmes, poems, books for children) in a few days or so. I plan to review everything and I will post my thoughts about them afterwards. Everything that I get I can get again for those that are interested. All of the material comes directly from China, so I will need to know as soon as possible following my post so that I can let my instructor know before she returns back from her trip. How did I miss this thread ....I want some too!!

I purchased Memory Magic at the end of last year and I used it with my 1 year old and my 2 year old nephew and they love it, especially the intro music   It is very colorful and the games keep them tuned in. There are three main games; silly story, follow that dot, and flash'em. My nephew was able to remember most of animals that were in one of the levels of flash'em after only seeing the set one time.

If you visited the link that pupisek posted you will see some of the actual games that are on the DVD. If anyone has anymore questions about it don't hesitate to ask!! Before I go, I love the bits they have for all of the objects in flash'em which include critters, edibles, music, sports, and tools.

The Wink to Learn website says that it is best for children from 6 months to 7 years old.

I have a 14 year old who used to watch these every now and then when I first bought them. He wanted to learn a little mandarin for a trip to China he was going to take this summer so he started watching them with his little brother and I. Unfortunately he will no longer be going, but he still remembers the words he did learn. Hope this helps!!
